I'm glad to hear that they're as good as the series would suggest.

I think part of the problem is that the show's on Showtime, which isn't quite a basic cable station. Even HBO gets more exposure. I wouldn't be surprised if the DVD sales are robust due to the buzz that there is, though.Tom Fosshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13796424725228769265noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13848504.post-1166059931951866522006-12-13T19:32:00.000-06:002006-12-13T19:32:00.000-06:00I'm sort of surprised that I haven't seen more on-...I'm sort of surprised that I haven't seen more on-line discussion of Dexter. It appears to have crept under a lot of people's notice, which is a shame, as it really is a nicely plotted and well acted show, with a good mix of drama, humor and the ghoulish.

If you can, check out the novels the series is based on as well. The general tone is the same, but they're much more tightly focused on Dexter's internal monologue.Dorianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14754097613320749614noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13848504.post-1166028160258889642006-12-13T10:42:00.000-06:002006-12-13T10:42:00.000-06:00Dexter really is one of the best things on televis...Dexter really is one of the best things on television lately. The number of shows I watch has actually gone up this year where I thought it was going to go down: holdovers from last year Veronica Mars and Lost, plus Studio 60 replacing The West Wing and Superman and the Legion of Super Heroes replacing Justice League Unlimited, plus Heroes. And I'd put The Backyardigans on this list if I could ever figure out when they show the new episodes.Matthew Ehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01007497367844755093noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13848504.post-1166022108368150742006-12-13T09:01:00.000-06:002006-12-13T09:01:00.000-06:00Yeah, Heroes is truly awesome. For some reason TV h...Yeah, Heroes is truly awesome.

For some reason TV has sucked me back in this year (maybe because it's the first season to start since I left the world of academia) but I have found quite a few good shows. Besides the aforementioned Heroes and Scrubs, and of course South Park (I never miss an episode), I can recommend both NBC shows about sketch comedy productions, 30 Rock and Studio 60. So that's a total of five shows I try to catch every week down, up from one or two in the past few years.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13848504.post-1165984040839235222006-12-12T22:27:00.000-06:002006-12-12T22:27:00.000-06:00Dexter is wonderful.
