Something that really surprised me (though it shouldn't have, I suppose) was how much those first episodes of Buffy really felt like a mid-'90s syndication series. Bad music, cheap effects, and poor production values. Season 1 is important in that it sets up some pretty important mythology, but for the most part one viewing is all you're gonna need.

-MMatthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05910006954704396801noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13848504.post-45840361206007422742008-02-27T12:27:00.000-06:002008-02-27T12:27:00.000-06:00Matthew: I've heard mixed things about the rest of...Matthew: I've heard mixed things about the rest of VM, but I figure, I bought at least two seasons of Smallville after its sell-by date had passed, and Veronica Mars is already better in just about every facet; I can justify that kind of purchase.

Matt: I kind of suspected that. The first season is, in my opinion, not so great. Right around the second third of Season 2 it kicks into high gear.

-MMatthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05910006954704396801noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13848504.post-9121557013032798962008-02-27T08:03:00.000-06:002008-02-27T08:03:00.000-06:00Make no mistake, seasons 2 and 3 of Veronica Mars ...Make no mistake, seasons 2 and 3 of Veronica Mars aren't as good as the first season... but they're still really good.
